Text message terms.

How patients consent to receive text messages from a healthcare practice's Orbis assistant, what those messages are, message frequency and rates, and how to stop them at any time.

Last updated May 23, 2026

Orbis provides an AI assistant that healthcare practices (each, a "Practice") use to help schedule and confirm appointments. When you interact with a Practice, that Practice's Orbis assistant may send you text messages on the Practice's behalf. This page describes that messaging program, how you consent to it, and how to opt out.

This is an account / appointment notification and conversational care program. It is not a marketing or promotional messaging program. You will never receive sales or advertising texts through it.

1. What messages you'll receive

If you opt in, the Practice's Orbis assistant may send you:

Messages are sent by the Practice through Orbis. They are transactional and conversational only.

2. How you opt in

You provide consent to receive text messages from a Practice in one of two ways:

A. By contacting the Practice yourself

When you call or text the Practice's published phone number to ask a question or request an appointment, you start the conversation and consent to receive text-message replies from that Practice's Orbis assistant about your request.

B. When you give your number while booking

When you provide your mobile number to the Practice — at the front desk, over the phone, or while booking an appointment — staff ask for and record your agreement to receive appointment-related texts. Consent is given using language equivalent to the following:

Consent is never bundled into another agreement, never pre-checked, and is never required to receive treatment or to book an appointment by phone or in person.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your interactions, questions, and scheduled appointments. You only receive messages tied to your own requests and appointments.

4. Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Orbis and the Practice do not charge you for receiving these messages.

5. How to opt out or get help

You can also ask the Practice's front desk to remove your number from text messaging at any time.

6. Privacy and your mobile information

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to provide the messaging service you requested. Full details are in our Privacy Policy (see Section 16, SMS / text messaging) and our Terms.

7. Carriers

Supported carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier's network and your device.

8. Contact

Questions about this messaging program: [email protected]. To stop messages from a specific Practice, reply STOP to that Practice's texts or contact the Practice directly.
